az be careful with the appraisal clause. In NC at least if you envoke this the price is what it is if the apraisors are in agreement. Meaning the value can go down.

 

Exactly why I would get one independent appraisal on my own before considering going that route.

Settlement is done. Picking up the replacement on Monday. Then I start the long process of convincing Jeremy to help me do another engine swap.
At least I have all the parts and hardware for the second swap.

That is the plan. 350 rwhp in a cab should be fun. I've got a little less than 3 years to have it ready for the next RSR.

I don’t think I’ve seen these on a Cab. The Broadfoot 968 Flares would look exceptional also allowing the use of your unique 996TT wheels.

Cummon Do it, (Arnold voice).

 

I'm hoping to fit my current wheels on the cab without needing to go with flares.
Time to break out the 5lb sledge hammer for some more fender rolling.

If that doesn't work, I will seriously consider those flares.

Nah, I'd rather spend a couple days beating on the car with the 5 lb hammer. It teaches the car who is boss and maintains my reputation as the most sane guy in the neighborhood.

 

I did a little rolling with a big rubber mallet at Discount Tire when I bought my last set. Got some odd looks from the guys working there. You gotta do what you gotta do...

 

How'd you make out settlement wise? If you don't mind sharing, I'd understand if you want to keep it private. I'm just curious and it may help other listers who end up in the same situation...

 

I've kept everyone in the loop for everything else, I guess I should share the final outcome. Although I am starting to feel like a drama queen. I gotta stop reading Doug Bray's posts. The drama gene may be contagious

I am happy with the final numbers.

$13720 and that is with me keeping the car. I've put more than that into the car over the last three years of owning it but I can reuse most of the parts.

 

Wow, you did great! I know it's a PITA to have to rebuild your car, but you did as well as can be imagined out of that without having a declared value policy.

 

I'd be careful with too much suspension/wheel work on a cab. Even though they have an extra floor for body stiffening, I've heard of issues with excessive chassis flex with mods much above stock.
