Default Dismantling Prosport gauges?

After some thinking I decided that I will have oil temp and boost gauges in the center console.
I already have an AutoGauge/Prosport peak/warning oil temp but I think it's kind of ugly since it's bothsticking out and is in silver.

First I thought about changing to the Speedhut peak/warning series http://www.speedhut.com/custom_gauge...number-589.htm that is available in black but then I found another Autogauge/Prosport version in black http://rspec.co.uk/performance-gauge...oost-gauge-bar

So to avoid buying one more oil temp I was thinking about dismantling the one I have and repainting the bezel.

Has anyone tried dismantling a Prosport gauge?

I would just mask carefully. I have the Prosport premium peak/hold gauges, and wouldn wNtto take them apart.

Masking sounds like the smart thing to do, I'll post the results in some weeks.

Masking worked so the gauges are now matte black.
