Post MAF kits

What is the absolute best MAF kit I can buy for the money? I don't think I'll go for the pro flow. I heard it's junk. How about these other guys? I know it's better to go to a EFI but, I decided to go to a maf. Any suggestions on which MAF kit I should buy? Thanks.

Pretty much all of the tuners use the same sensor. There is minimal diffrence in that. However, the electronics that come with them are varied. Huntley and SFR offer more tunability, but you need to TUNE the car. Lindsey has a nice drop in kit, but does not do as much to tune a car with more mods.

Really, what you need to do is contant the tuners with MAF's you are intrested in, and ask for an install and technical manual on it. This way you know what you are getting in to.

I dont know who told you the PRO FLOW is junk, but the LIndsey looks EXACTLY like my PRO FLOW with a sticker on the fuel controller
(seriously) I, personally, have heard good things about the pro flow and as soon as I can get my ignition issues straightened out, I will be able to tell you for sure.

Dave at Lindsey told me that Pro Flow manufactures the sensors for EVERY 951 maf - and sells to various other names.

I wouldn't doubt that. The lindsey unit looks almost IDENTICAL to my pro flow. and if you go over to the pro flow headquaters here, I am sure you can get one in the $300 range. (possibly less)

From the Lindsey Racing April News letter:

"Changes coming on the Lindsey Racing MAF Kits:

Lindsey racing has made some changes in our MAF kits. We have not only added a great deal of additional fuel control, but have also lowered the retail price $200.00. Now it will not only be the best running MAF kit on the market, but the least expensive by far. Due to release in
second week of May.

Look soon for new additional HP package combinations from Lindsey Racing including our high flowing cylinder heads, MAF kits, Exhaust and Intakes."

You might want to wait and see what the new release MAF from lindsey racing are like.

I never said Pro Flow was junk. To each his own.

Like I said, almost all the MAF's out there use the same sensor. It is the piggy back controllers that make the diffrence.

I never took it that way . I just find it amusing that in one post, somebody can say " i hear the PRO M's SUCK BIG time" and then somebody can say, "I hear good stuff about the lindsey units"

Pro-flow does not make the sensors for our kits. You can see the difference between the Pro-flow sensor and our sensor so there should be no doubt for potential buyers.

We are going to be lowering the price $100 off of our basic kit too;^) It is not much but every little bit counts. Unfortunately, we cannot drop the price too much because the ARC2 is expensive and is one of the only devices on the market that can be used on the 951 successfully.

Is there a conflict in using, say, an Apex'i S-AFC to control a/f? with one of the sensors out there?

a good working MAF that is adj, and works fine ha s its price. Do not forget. you do not buy just parts. You pay for the R&D. This is what makes the car runs fine not just the MAF sensor.

The ARC2 is expensive!!!. Call up split second, they want $500 just for the arc 2! But, who says you need an arc2? This is what I am trying to figure out...... I will know soon. I think my injectors are at fault for my current situation. I am close to having things straightened out.

BTW, my PRO FLOW has a HUGE adj range. I played with it for a while and I realized how such a little movement will make such a differnce.

THese kits are only expensive for us P car owner's. I know a couple people with MAF conversions kits on other cars and their adj MAF's cost around $300!!!
