Default Beware of a Scam from England

There is a guy named James Thompson or Thomson in England, trying to scam you out of money. I am currently working with the legal end to catch this person(s).

DO NOT buy anything from this person. They want you to use Western Union to send money. He says his paypal is not working. Beware.

I don't usually buy anything from overseas, so I think I am good. Thanks for the heads up though. Post more details.

He was trying to sell 951 parts. But, he probably gets pics of any part and trys to sell them. Unfortunately for him, I am and Ex-fed and will be pursuing him with the UK folks.

I've heard of stories of people scamming people with Western Union. It's always some lame excuse like some other method of payment isn't working for whatever reason (like paypal in this case), and so they tell you to pay via W.U. Sad thing is, while probably most people on the CONUS are aware of these scammers, I imagine lots of people outside the US are not aware of this and thus, scammers take advantage of this knowledge.

There is absolutely no form of verification. It's not that it's "bad", it's just that it's extremely unsecure. Do a google search.

They do require proof of who you are and have cameras in the offices.

Scams over the net are really easy - Scams have been about for years its just that the net has broadened that horizon...Stephen dont rest until you get compensated ..

Another scam is where you advertise a car and its an overseas buyer ! The car lets just say is advertised as €8000...He sends you a cheque for €10000 and then tells you this is a mistake and wants the difference €2000 in Western Union.. You of course pay up then the original cheque bounces when you try to cash it..... Leaving you €2000 down... Dirty trick

A good friend had a Merc advertised on DoneDeal and got a mail from an overseas buyer.. Then the cheque came at €3500 over the asking price.. He contacted the buyer and said that the bank were charging €120 to cash such a big cheque... The scammer still demanded the difference and sent him some really nasty e-mails and stuff - but then he got his just desserts ....

I have bought numerous items from the net from the UK and the USA and never had a problem... Yet

Buyer Beware

Below is another one of his alias.......he sent me a fishing E-mail about how he had loads of 952 Euro parts available.

Luckily I checked with my friend who is from Redding, England because his E-Mail just didn't sit right with me, he spotted that the addrress was not consistant with how they write their address along with the name which is their equivalent of "John Doe".
