I installed an HKS EVC IV in my 88 951 yesterday. The install was a breeze and the setup was too. I mounted the stepping motor onto the side of the cruse control box.

I am curious as to where everyone else has mounted theirs. I'm kinda concerned about the heat radiating from the exhaust manifolds. Please post pics if you have any.

I have a Greddy profec b and i put my stepping motor next to the battery. I think that having it to close to the header like you did will cook it.
In my instructions they say to keep it away from any heat source.
And looking at the picture, you have enough vac. line to do it.
Are you still using the stock cycling valve? I bypassed it.
I notice you do not have a fuel pressure regulator on your fuel rail, why?

Yes, the cycling valve is long gone. The reason there's no FPR is cause the PO modified the rail for some unknown reason, so I can't install one.

I'm in the process of locating another rail.
So how did you run your vac lines from the battery area? Through one of the existing gromets or did you make a new hole.

I used the 2 existing gromet right in front of the battery and in the curve on the fire wall to pass the both line's.I could'nt get them both to fit in the same one,and it worked great.
If i can make a suggestion for the fuel rail?
Don't buy another rail, just buy an ajustable regulator that does'nt bolt onto the rail.
Like this one.
<a href="http://216.242.145.16/products/product.phtml?p=10" target="_blank">Aeromotive A1000-6 Injected Bypass Regulator </a>
It works just like the stock one (Fuel pressure will rise on a 1:1 ratio when referencing boost.)
And its ajustable an not to expensive.<a href="http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=4350&prmenbr=361" target="_blank">jegs.com 131.99$</a>
You will need to ad a fuel pressure guage to see the fuel pressure you are at.

But since you did'nt post about the fuel pressure regulator i guess im of topic sorry.

Where did you mount the head unit?

Thanks, I don't have a radio in my car yet. So I have it sitting in the hole. I have a gauge panel but it's got a round hole in it from a Turbonetics MBC. I'm trying to figure out how everyone is flush mounting there controllers in the panels, what holds it in?

Stephan...I had my arm1 mounted in the panel. basically cut the hole in the panel for the object you want, and then on the back just use some sort of an epoxy or a silicone. you wont see how its mounted from the front and at least with some sort of epoxy it will hold it quite strong.

I don't have the HKS but I do have the AVC-R. I mounted my solenoid the same place as Stephen. Then I made a panel for below the radio cut the hole so the unit fit tight then siliconed it in from the rear. Here is a pic of the solenoid but I can't seem to find my pic of the controller. If you really want to see it I could probably get a pic for you tomorrow.

edman did you have to drill a hole through the firewall to route the wiring from the solenoid to the controller? I been trying to hook up my Profec A and I can't seem to find to hole for the wiring. thanks ken

No, their is a grommet in the firewall next to the battery. it leads right over the glove box.I removed the glove box to help feed the wires.

FWIW, I installed my AVC-R solenoid valve right where the factory CV was. It was kind of a tight fit, but works out nice since all the factory plumbing is right there. I was a still a little concerned that the heat there might be a problem, but finally decided that it would probably be O.K. since the factory CV survived there. So far, it has worked well and provided a real stealthy/clean installed look.
