Whats your set up?
15 Psi on a stock turbo? 15 Psi on something else? Exhaust, etc, etc....
All that matters.
The e46 M3 has 333 hp, and it pulls hard, but I think a mildly modded turbo should be much quicker.

Wow, I don't know...
With the setup I have now, I was equal in third and he just pulled slowly in fourth. My brother told me he was pushing the BMW to the limit. It also has the SMG tranny.

Since I have tons of friends with E46 M3's, I know for a fact that no K26-6 turbo'd 944 can keep up with an E46 M3, regardless of what's been done to them (chips, maf, etc). The M3 will pull everytime on a MAF equipped K26-6 car, not by much though. M3 will beat an Autothority K26-6 easily.
I've never driven a K26-8 turbo'd car, so I can't comment there . I'm guessing it'd be close with the right mods.

Rage,
I noticed you are now making 450WHP : ) with your 2.5 ltr. What turbo are you using? Did you upgrade yout turbo? I thought you were using a 3in. inlet Garrett?
I've asked this quite few times, but what was your hp/trq at 5252rpm???
If that was a Dynojet run I think that is highest I've ever seen!
Paul

Yep. Pretty much even from freeway speeds till the M3 hits its rev limiter. They may get a slight jump while the turbo spools. I suppose 'brake boosting' could fix that, but I don't really care that much.
BTW, my car makes 270 peak rwhp with just chips, lbe, and a rebuilt stock K26-8.
What I want to know is what the CRX that I couldn't lose the other night had under its hood! (or in its trunk)

Stage 3 Huntley Racing turbo, pushing 25psi to make that hp mark.

About 410-420rwhp if I remember right.

That's a run off my Blitz power meter, with weight calibrated before the run. Speed is calibrated using GPS. Last time I ran on a Mustang dyno to compare my Blitz numbers, the Blitz was high by about 10hp (330 vs 320). I only use Blitz for my dyno runs nowadays.

I have a friend with a CRX, and a B18C5 Integra Type-R engine transplant. Cams, Intake, Headers, Exhaust, and the thing does mid 13's. Good old power to weight ratio!

When I had my 951 (highly modded), I had no problem dispensing an E46 M3 during two separate highway runs once I shifted in 4th. They weigh quite a bit (3400+) as well.

An E46 M3 makes 333 hp, 262ft/lbs and has a curb weight of 3415lbs.
An APEII chipped/MBC '86 951 (slightly lighter than 87+ but that's what I gots) makes about 265hp, 290-ishft/lbs and has a curb weight of 2890lbs.
In street races and anything to do with acceleration, torques is what really counts. The M3 has a weight to torque ratio of about 13. A mildly modded 951 has a ratio of about 10.
What makes a big difference is where that power is made. If you're running in 3rd gear and up, shift no later than 5500RPM. Anything above that and the car just makes less and less power. Again, this only applies to mildly modded K26/6 motor.
I've run against a few E46 M3's, and one of the MCoupes with the same motor. I've never had a problem staying with them in a straight line or pulling on them. Keep in mind that in a street race, who gets on the gas first and where you make your shifts makes a huge difference. Know your power curve.

I never enjoy bench racing much, but...
The M3 has a flat torque curve all the way up to (close to anyways) 8000rpm redline.
The 951's torque curve falls quickly after 5000rpm.
If you shift at 5500rpm, sure you're back in your torque band, but the shift has effectively lowered the amount of torque to the wheels significantly, so your rate of acceleration would decrease dramatically.
