Thumbs up best bang for your buck( gur chips installed)

it's been two weeks now since i installed the guru chip set. i previously had the arc2 chips in it and it ran way too rich, idles erratically, smokes when boost kicks in or wot.
with the guru chips, all these ailments have been aleviated "plus" i get better response. then i installed the shims," wow" first test run, it actually put my head back in the head rest.
for the amount of hard earned money spent, guru chips are the way to go. plus all the technical support that is readily available from this knowledgeable person.
from now on all further mods will be from Danno, nice guy, knowledgeable and not just out there to make the quick buck, some actually that i consider a tuner. always trying to make things better and available for all levels of income.
so the stereo type that you need to be rich to own a Porsche is out the window, you just need more ppl like Danno to be around and actually care about his and others passion.
to danno, thanks a lot and looking forward to do more business with you soon as i save more.
next up grade will be the digital a/f gauge.

i've heard the 968 sway bars are a great bang for the buck, but that's handling not power... if you search you can find more info about this.

oh and why's your gauge only go to 12 psi... aren't you running higher boost than that?

OK guys...go ahead...rub it in! While I'm waiting for my GURU chips to arrive, just make me suffer!!

OH no, I don't want you to feel guilty or anything...that's ok...

Seriously Carl, I'm very glad to hear that the chips worked out well for you. Makes me even more anxious to get mine installed!

i'm scared that i might mess up something if i put it to the 15 psi, it's a daily driver and can't afford to do major work on it. if the occassion calls for 15 then i'll set it up then.
but iaw danno it's safe to do so, but i'm still sceptical as this is my first p-car and i'd rather run it below rather than blow something up and have to garage it till i get the funds together.
david, somewhere between 300-400 bucks. but i think i may need to do a belt tension first, nd to save on the tool.
bjorn, i think sway bars or something in the suspension too as i have a lot of body roll in corners.

carl,
My car was running 12psi bone stock...crank it up a little...14psi couldn't hurt. You can control the boost with your right foot also you know. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

At 12psi you may be too rich...

When I connect the line, the pressure goes down to about 38psi. I'd personally use the proper fuel pressure and 15 psi boost as that is how the chips were designed.

Turn it up to 14psi then you will see your head going back in the head rest.

Watch your temp guage if you are steady 160mph + driver he,he.

Thumbs up

I just installed the Guru chips/FPR/Reliaboost kit on my otherwise stock (but shimmed) 86 951. I have no hesitation or stumbling, just gobs of power (14 psi max). Maybe, just maybe, I have a little more lag (had a LBE before the guru kit) but maybe not. Last night, I went out and thrashed it good and I could find nothing to complain about. Just posting a data point, YMMV.

Deitz
