which coolant temp sensor does my car use?
its a 83 engine with ecu 0 261 200 086(944.618.121.05) car its self is a 1987
engine looks to have a short style sensor. but i think it should be the long version from what I read.

Do you have an early N/A engine in a Turbo?
I dont't really know, but if I were to guess, I would use the sensor for a post 85 N/A. My reasoning is that the sensor for the temp gauge should match the late style dash.
