Yes you are correct, but the way the belt slipped made me think that something must be seized ?? Maybe this weekend I have a friend how is a selfless soul
and maybe he will come over and check it out with his gauge set![Cheers](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/beerchug.gif)
What has me stumped, is you the pulley just wouldn't just spin freely ?? ( well at least freely enough where it wouldn't toast a new belt....![Confused](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I am able to turn it by hand ?
Thanks
Ed

With the belt off the outer pulley should turn very free unless the bearing is bad. the center of the compressor is what is truning the guts , it should not turn unless the clutch is engaged, however you should be able to turn it when engaged or not engaged with some resistance, If the belt pulley is what is locking up and the center is stationary then the bearing is bad , the bearing can be bought at most parts places and changed easily. best to take it out to make sure you get the correct bearing have found that there are 2 different ones.
