Default 951 gets a "thumbs up" from a 69' XKE this morning!

Was about to give him the same gesture and he beat me to it...oh, and i knew it was a 69' model cause the plates read "69 XKE"...very nice red coupe.

Took a nice long 2 1/2 hour drive this morning. Saw some sport bikes out enjoying the same roads at a brisk pace. Also quite a few "cruiser" bikes enjoying the roads at a much(!) slower pace..I get that too!

I get the same thing when out for a dive (or ride) Drivers of cars I like or admire appreciate the 951 as I do there rides or at least the effort it takes to keep them on the road where they belong

effort?!?!?! on those old jags, its about how deep your pockets are or if they even make parts for them. damn near obsolete! at our shop, we just tried to find an outer door handle for a 92 XJ, and they are no longer made....took us weeks to find one.

Jags are nice, but its been a car on my list of "not to own" for too long....no thanks

kudos to the guys that DO keep them on the road though, especially the old xks and e-types

There's a nice red V12 XKE Coupe that lives around here, owned by an older gentlemen that seemingly knows how to drive it (gives it the beans whenever I see him). Absolutely beautiful car, and much smaller than it seems in pictures.

It was cool to see him out enjoying the car on some two lanes...it appeared immaculate.

I've never gotten a thumb's from any driver or grown up, for that matter, but a 10 year old stopped to stare and comment about it a month ago when I was at the local Gamestop - heck, he even insisted on holding the door to the ice cream shop open for me.

I think it was love at first sight for the young fella and no doubt he'll probably want a Porsche for his first car (I feel sorry for his dad who can't even say it properly).
