I picked up a 2.5 steel sleeved block from a friend of mine and want to use it for a 2.7 build. It is a short block that has everything except the pistons/rods. The crank needs to be worked, I think it spun the #2 bearing but I don't plan on using this crank. The steel sleeves have some scoring that I can feel but nothing that can't be bored out... I think. Ill post some pictures later today.
My original 89 Turbo engine is completely disassembled. I was planning on rebuilding my stock motor but now I'm weighing my options because of the sleeved 2.5 block I have.
My thought so far are...
Have the sleeved block checked and bored to 104mm
Use my original stock 2.5 crank
Use my original stock 2.5 head
Use my original stock rods
This is assuming that all parts are within spec and the sleeves can be bored past the scoring.
What are my 104mm piston/ring options? I have searched and found other builds using JE, any others?
This is going to be a street car and TEC3 mgnt. I haven't decided on a Turbo yet...
Thanks!
