Default car bogs when WOT any ideas?

car has a 83 engine

stock besides aeromotive fuel pressure reg. set to (2.5)
all vac lines new.

I removed the tb sensor and tested with meter to see if idle and wot is making contact.
wiring harness plug to tb switch is getting its 5v

when I hammer it car dies in power and wont free rev.
wideband controller is seeing 16 range.

when I rev car at idle and look at fuel pressure gauge its working great.

anyideas?

83 engine, or 83 block?

Sounds like you are getting ignition cut from the KLR, likely due to lean knock.. IF this is a turbo motor.

Verify the WOT signal is making it to the DME at the DME connector, I can research the wire colors for you later this evening.. but need to know year of car it is in..

AND

If you used an 83 block, can I ask why? IIRC the oil passages are smaller in teh 83 block than later blocks, and while OK for a low reving N/A motor, not a good choice of blocks to build a turbo motor on, unless it is only for street use, and not used at high RPMs for extended periods.. but that is just what I have heard...

Plus the 83 block doesn't have the socket for the turbo oil line in the balance shaft cover it would have to be drilled.

Vacuum Leaks? Should cause a popping sound if you have vacuum leaks. Overboost protection? Or running lean.

Check for AFM output.

Thottle position switch is Idle / WOT.... all fuel metering is performed as a function of AFM / throttel/WOT on the N/A cars IIRC..

I can try to verify this in a little bit..

Sounds like a TPS / AFM issue, possibly in the wiring..

I tested the tps both wot and idle pins are making ground when ingadged.
as for afm that has me wondering that it could be it. but forsure the problem happens when the tps is at WOT

On Gasoline:
~12.5 makes best torque
~11.5 makes best power

N/A motor.. go for the torque as the extra richness isn't really doing any good, and will only yield one or two horses, but you will feel the extra torque!
