Post WB sensor threads

Hi Guys,

I know a lot of you have gone WB. I'm thinking of it now also. I'm also just going to get myself a LR straight exhaust, and when It arrives, I wanted to pre-empt myself and get a collar welded on and then bung it until I get the WB sorted.

My questions are this:
What thread does the NTK sensor have?
What thread does the Bosch LSU4 have?

It seems that techedge will soon be doing a Bosch sensor unit, and with what seems to be a shortage of the NTK sensor, I'd like to have my bases covered!!!

I have been wondering about this for a while. I am adding another question:

I am running an aftermarket EFI, so I can use the stock sensor location, which I feel is better because it is closer to the head. Which sensor is a straight swap for the stock threads?

From my tech edge "manual"

"The sensor [NTK] requires an 18 mm (1.5 mm/thread) bung."

Hope that helps <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I could be wrong here, but i've had a bung welded on in 3 different vehicles, (one german, one japanese and one american)...all had the same 02 sensor bung. I think it's universal. Anyone with a different experience?

I agree with Mike S, should be the same.

I bought the bung for my wideband from Summit Racing and there was no size choices.

Sam, Just got this from Dave:

Can you provide an option to have a M18x1.5 nut welded on as I am also
considering a wideband sensor at a later date?

I COULD DO THAT, HOWEVER THE BEST PLACE FOR THE WIDE BAND IS BEFORE THE
TURBO IN PLACE OF THE STOCK SENSOR.

I'm gonna wait and when the ehaust goes on, i'll get the nut welded in the right place.

As hard (and expensive) as these WB sensors are to get, I would advise getting a second bung welded on next to the current NB O2 sensor. This way, if the WB fails, you don't have to scramble to find a replacement.

All O2 sensor I have looked at have used the same threads/bungs. That includes the Bosch and NTK sensors. One of the few things in the Auto industry that seems to have a standard size.

my bosch (NARROW aka non-wide-band) uses m18x1.5 - i think that's fairly standard for any o2 sensor...
