The company I work for want me to move to CA (no way unless they pay me WHOLE LOT). They are OK if I travel back and forth.
So being a non-resident, can a car be kept in CA with out of state plates?
-Dana
I would say yes on the plates if you are truly traveling back and forth and don't apply for a Cali DL. If you receive mail in Cali and have an address here it can get dicey if you are pulled over and records don't match. Personally I would avoid transferring anything here unless you absolutely have to, it's just not worth it. I drove with Texas plates for about 8 months but could not re-register the vehicle in Texas since I had no address back there anymore.
CA gets really pissy if you're making money in CA and living there, but the car is registered out of state. If you get pulled over expect to get lectured.
