Question Droan Noise/ Intermediate pipe from exhaust manifold to wastegate?

Droan noise update/ Bad pipe from manifold to wastegate: 86 944 Turbo

I have finally gotten a diagnosis that may be correct. The mechanic says that the noise I’m hearing after 10 minutes, at operating temp, between 1900 and 2900 rpm’s, is coming from the intermediate double walled short pipe from the exhaust manifold to the wastegate. I got very excited that I was finally going to solve this problem. However, the parts manager at Porsche dealer says the part alone is over $1000, and the labor to replace this pipe is intensive and expensive. He says many turbo owners try to live with the noise since the cost to replace is so high.

Is there a way to replace this pipe at reasonable cost? By a mechanic? Have any of you ever been through this or replaced this pipe? I don’t think I am experienced enough to do this job myself. Can I find this pipe or a single walled replacement for this pipe at reasonable cost?

Thanks for sending advice!!!
