"PRICED REDUCED" '86 944 N/A 83K Miles... FOR SALE $7500
I talked to a couple of friend in my local PCA and they recommended dropping about $500 to move the car more quickly, so here goes. It's now $7500. All offers will be considered.
I'm selling my '86 944. It's in great mechanical shape and is still a head turner!!! Interior is like new (including dash... no cracks). No rips in seats. I've spent many hours pampering this baby (ask the wife:-)
Need money to help pay-off new '89 951 purchase (and calm down the wife). Here's a run down of it:
- Completely stock (never mod'd)
- 5-speed
- Guards Red/Blk Leather
- Phone Dials (excellant shape)
- Tires 85% left (Bridgestones)
- New A/C Condensor (blows ice cold)
- Cruise
- Rear wiper
- Factory sunroof
- drivers electric seat
- Sony detachable CD player
- Factory locking alarm
- K&N filter
- Brakes done last fall
- Recent belt(s) job (good for another 30K)
- Original Porsche Air Compressor
- Original spare and jack
- Fairly recent clutch and water pump
- Porsche Bra
- I have all maintence records from myself and previous owner.
- Car was purchased and has been in Tennesse prior to my purchasing it in 5/00.
- I have a clean CarFax report on it and will e-mail it if your interested.
- Always Mobil 1
This car has been stored winters with a cover. Never abused, has been driven to work during summers (~3 1/2 months in Michigan). I recently drove this to Colorado and back to pick up '89 951 early this month and it ran like a top through out the entire trip. I even had one guy try to buy it from me while I was out there, just couldn't come up with the money in the 2 days I was there (shucks).
This is not a disappointer!! It is extremelly solid mechanically and you will be able to drive this for many miles without any major repairs.
I will e-mail pictures of it upon request.

86na- $5k tops, unless you find that special someone
86- 951-- $6-7k in only so so condition. $8-10k in good to excellent condition.
Key here is don't be in too big of a hurry. Someone will pay what you're asking. I doubt it on this board though. There's a PCA type in NC that's trying to sell a stock 87 for $16k, talk about delusional. I thought that only applied to 911 and 928 owners

Ninethirtyguy, besides being a Troll, you are an idiot. You are new here and probably have some connection to the guy trying to sell the car. Respect these boards a little more and cut the foul language. Ahmet has been here for much longer than 90% of the listers here now and he in no way deserves to be disrespected as such. You on the other hand are new and your first posts are filled with foul language and nothing but negativity. So far you have contributed absolutely nothing to the Porsche community on these boards. I will recommend that you be banned from further postings.

I'd say he will get his asking price, I'd say most Porsche sellers do, it just takes a little longer. Some people are a little more realistic to prices, and some areas are harder to get them in. So. Cal. may sell a lot cheaper than here in VA, as there's more of them out there. I've bought 2 951's (current one being a 951 S) and I live in the heart of VA, and my cars came from upstate NY and Chicago IL (a 10 - 12 hour drive for both, one way). Being as I'm willing to travel, I also am willing to pay a premium, as are other buyers.
I agree with Ahmet though, this needs to be in Classifieds (which is where I found my current 951 S).

Are you close to Norfolk? I don't know TOO much about VA geographically, but, I bought my Turbo S in Norfolk in October of '99 (I got ripped off but...). I flew up from Knoxville to get it. What color is your other one? Anyway, I was just curious...

1. I think $6k is fair.
2. The rennlist charter specifically states that "Rennlist will also accept non-commercial "for sale" or "wanted" postings to all lists, providing that these postings are not too repetitive. "Repetitive" means posting items for sale more than twice a week or more than four times in one month. These "for sale" or "wanted" posts should be limited to 40 lines or less."

I think what is fair is what he can sell it for.
If he can get $10k for it, I hope he does. You guys who are so quick with the lowball prices, I hope you get lowballed when you try to sell YOUR cars.
Try to put the car out on display a few places, like maybe Wal-Mart on a Saturday. Take your time, and dont take the first, or even second offer unless it meets your goals.
There is an *** for every seat, as we used to say in the car biz. A person who genuinely wants the car will pay whatever it takes. And be happier with the purchase. In my experience (more than 10 years), the person who wheedles and cries about the price, will never be happy at any price.
Dont listen to these guys. Get whatever you can for your car. Of course they all want it for 50% the asking price. But the truth is, there just arent that many nice, low mileage cars out there anymore. I really think the market for 944/951's has bottomed out. $7500 is not too much to pay for a car in good condition, with low miles. I have noticed that overall, prices seem to be going up on these cars, and if yours is as nice as you described...

Jeremy - you have too much time on your hands (looks who's talking, posting at 11:52 on a Friday night while so drunk I can hardly see..but anyway, YOU have too much time on your hands).
Robby: I am about 3 hours from Norfolk. I live straight up on 81 in Harrisonburg VA (if you know colleges, think James Madison University), or, if you want a better frame of reference, I'm 30 mins west of Charlottesville (think U.VA). Anyway, my other 951 was Black, until it was totaled (got rear-ended). It's still black, just owned by someone who was willing to turn it from a total loss to the beauty it once was.
