Hmmm... I know it's a conversion job... but the engine... that's an 8V 2.5 liter 951 engine is it not? Maybe I'm wrong but shouldn't the car have a turboed 3 liter 16V engine?

it is not a conversion or a converted engine or wahtever. These are ALL original Parts fited in a 968 Coupe. only the VIN is diferent all othe rparts are original and come from weissach. since everybody ask me the same and I have to reply to so man email I will copy the same email here and I hope I answere the most questions

let me explain something. this is not a clone or a Modified 968. It has ALL the Turbo S parts
as they
come from the factory and instaled in the car. It took a lot of work and conection to the
Weissach
people in order to find some parts that are no longer available. Some of them had to be
remanufactured. The only part that it is not from turbo S is only 1 digit at the VIN. This car
has also the
updated parts from the Turbo S and it is build by the chief tech at Weissach.
All updates and corections have been used in this car and this car has been build at Porsche
Motorsport with all the original Porsche parts.
The Turbo is a special Turbo for the 968 Turbo only. It says k26 on the plate but on the housing it say k28!
It is a mix of k26, k27 an k28 it is called k26 MXB and it is about as big
as a k27. It need to modify the ruber boot in order to fit on this Turbo. Do not hear what
other says
about a k26 Turbo in the 968 Turbo S. Yes the designation is k26 but the Turbo is nothing
like the k26/
or k26/8
The pistons are special pistons from Mahle and cost me $4000 the set. yes the block is locasil and only the Turbo had this block. the piston can be
used in the alusil block too.
The DME and KLR are from the 968 Turbo S with special chips etc.
All parts are exactly the same as in the original car even the mounting for
the hood, the bolts or what ever else can you think.
the FPR is a 3.8 bar but it makes 4,05 bar in this car.
one could probably write books on the parts on this car. I bet if all these part would be in a
body with
the right VIN the Price would be at least twice as high.
I know there is a car with the right VIN in the USA (no engine) and I know of one who
registered a real 968 Turbo S in
the USA as a show car.

This is the same material used in the Boxster engines. It has a lower concentration of silicon than Alusil.

I think the mix of silicium is different in the 996 and Boxster engines and they use a different way for manufacturing it now sinc eteh way in the 968 Turbo was too expensive.
Boxster i and 996 wa sthe first porsche had the locasil in a stock car and they use locasil II. the 968 Turbo use Locasil I which is much more stiffer. more infos (in Geramn from the company that make teh locasil here:

that is one hell of a car....my dream car. Does anyone know the asking price? Too me, that car would be worth every penny...who cares about a vin#, when you have a machiene like that?

Some day, if I had the money, I'd like to have a 944 Turbo S, 968 Turbo S, and a 993 Turbo S.
That would be a nice stable. Oh yea, those are in addition to my track cars I would have.
