Yep that is the one. Just got it shipped from New Mexico to Vancouver, Canada. Running rough but thats because the fuel air was never fully adjusted and change in elevation. Installing a Mafterburner to solve the problem. Everything in really good shape including interior like new and original clearcoat still shining. A little pricy but liked the low mileage, the excellent condition and the mods.

We also have a 88 red Turbo S with similar low mileage.

No worries - last 4 digits of a porsche VIN are the serial number. Taken with the year code, model, and whether it is usa or RoW (all discernible in the vin), then you know which number of the total run you were. Mine was 987 of the 1385 which came to the US in 1989.

Maybe you and Richard could make it to 944 Fest at VIR this year in September - would be great to catch up!

Auto Atlanta used to have a VIN decoder tied into Porsche's database that would tell you the options a car came with. Apparently there was a lawyer problem with that and it was taken down - pretty big bummer! I'd love to mine that database to tell us more information on numbers of 944s painted each color and what the rarity was on certain options.

Here is a standard VIN decoder - http://www.944online.com/944_vin_decoder.html

It would be nice to know of the 1385 how many are still in existence. Apparently mine is 201
