Default Need advice on Tial 38mm install

Hi everyone I am excited to say I almost have my car sorted out and running well.

Here is some background.

Car is an 88 with full 3' exhaust
Rogue M-tune w 80lb injectors
Rebuilt top end
Turbonetics Turbo probably about the size of a K28 (slighly larger than stock).
I bypassed the cycling valve for the MBC install

My question is about the spring rate for the Tial. I can get a really good deal on a Tial 38 with the spring rate set at 14.7 psi (large red). Is this a good idea. My goal is to have this car around 15 sometimes up to 18 psi on boost. So would this be a wise purchase? Or should I buy one with a lower spring rating for "safety" and then turn up the boost from that.

And one other much easier question. My oil pressure light keeps coming on. I want to first diagnose the problem by changing my oil. How much oil does these 951's take. 5 quarts? more? Car is mostly a weekend warrior/fun car.

yup - spring is pretty easy to replace. Go with whatever you want the car to run at if your boost controller fails. I went with a 1 BAR spring - with a boost controller you can set it wherever you want it - but getting a spring that won't overboost if your MBC dies on you is the one you should put in.

Spring rate on wg dictates the lowest pressure you can run. A 1 bar spring will actually be like 13.5 psi due to exhaust pressure, in my experience.

Oil is 6.9 qts on my 86

Ok, so it sounds like it would be wise for me to get something like a 9-10 lb spring. Correct?

A .8bar spring is what the majority of us run. It comes to ~12psi which is what the car runs stock.
