944 Turbo Velocity System on Ebay - is it worth it?
I'm new the the 951 world so bear with me on what may be a stupid question. I just saw this listing on Ebay: <a href="http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2415425031&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1" target="_blank">Porsche 944 Turbo Velocity System on Ebay</a>
Is this a worthwhile thing to do at such a price or is it a waste of money?
Thanks for the feedback.

Purge that thought from your mind for so many reasons.
First off, it is sold by 9xauto. I'm not sure if any vendor is more widely hated than those boys. Well, maybe AutoAtlanta, but 9xauto is right up at the top.
Second, the location of the filter is VERY poor for a K&N on a 951. You are getting the hot air off the intercooler (and general engine bay heat at low speeds).
Do a search on all the numerous threads over the years on intake systems and K&N filters. Bottom line is stick with stock setup (you can get a K&N for the stock box, but, as an user of one I don't think it is probably worth it), unless you are going to replace the stock barn door air flow meter. Then intake air plumbing simplicity means you will stick a cone K&N behind the left headlight bucket.

There bare quite a few mistakes and thus it does not project a very professionnal image.

Andre,
Oh, yeah. Just do a Rennlist search on them. I've never dealt with them either but I have no desire to find out first hand what it feels like to get smacked in the face with a brick. I'll take my fellow Rennlisters' opinions that it doesn't feel very good.

Thanks!

VERY poor customer service, the worst part being charged on credit card immediate on order and not shipping product for a long time, if ever. There was some talk of sending a vigilante crew over to their offices to do whatever in one case, IIRC.
I believe most of the actual products are fine, albeit overstated marketing claims, but the highest prices you can pay for the same product from any other vendor.

Isnt that nice? sending your credit card number to a guy who wont let you see the part and works out of a P.O. box!

Lotek is making/selling the gauge pods that 9x sells on ebay but lotek's price is like $20 less. I would bet that when you buy one from 9x they order it from lotek re box it and ship it to you (this is why it takes so long to get anything from them).

Waste of money because most of the restriction is in the AFM anyway. You could do the same thing with a K&N replacement panel filter for the stock air-box. Paragon Products has the best pricing on K&N filters.
