Need new Turbo...
It looks like I have sustained some FOD on my '88 non-S turbo. My mechanic has some K27 variant that he said was a cup turbo?
The reason I am posting is that I am having trouble contacting some vendors and would like some suggestions. I am hoping that with the right turbo and the GURU MAP conversion, that I can easily see 300rwhp. To this end, I am looking for a turbo with similar lag (close anyway) to the K26-6 I had but with greater flow characterstics. I do not need a 400hp turbo. So far, the SFR Stage I seemed to fit the bill, but I can't load their website right now for some reason. (maybe a sign from inside?)
ANWYAY...
Does anyone (vendor or not) have a turbo that would fit the bill and is available now?
Thanks to all,

John,
You could call Jason @ TEC. 303-271-3997
He's liable to have what you need on hand or very quickly. Keep in mind that it's a bolt on with some fuss involved. The SFR would be hassle free most likely. I don't know about turnaround though. I've got TEC's Garret hybrid T04E-46. 300 rwhp @ 16 psi. Full boost @ 3850, 12 psi @ 3200. Certainly laggier than the K26/6, but not to bad.

I have a turbo for sale K27/6 with lightweight rotor. dynoed at 310 rwhp at 4,250 rpm (chips, dual wastegate, 3 bar FPR, stage 1 intercooler).
Should be the right one for you, I guess.
50 % off new at 650 USD, available in 2 weeks. You can have the chips (autothority custom burned for that turbo) for another 200 dollars, LBE (new) for 80 bucks.
Let me know.

I ordered the same Garrett T04E that Russ has from TEC yesterday. Jason recommended the 46 trim for me as well. He claims the lag will probably be less than with my current K27/6, backpressure will be greatly reduced, and overall the turbo will be more efficient over a wider rpm range with a greater hp potential than the K27. He also said that, at this altitude, the stock injectors should suffice.
Mine will be ready next week. Call him -- the price will surprise you.

Christian, I would be interested in your turbo, but the timing won't work. I've been driving the garage's loaner cars this week, and I couldn't hold out for two more weeks without my car. ;-)
Russ, I gave Jason a call and will probably be going that route.
BTW, has anyone heard of a K26 club sport? I have no info, but the mechanic thought it might be a good choice.
