Default Need new castor blocks for stock a-arms

Stock rubber or Elephant Racing Hard rummber or monoball ?

Took the control arms off to inspect during the pan gasket replacement and the rubber in the caster block on the drivers side is completly torn. The control arm bushinsg are really the only stock suspension components still on the car. What are you using when it comes tome to replace these ?

I see Elephant has both a sport hardness rubber replacement
http://www.elephantracing.com/suspen...erbushings.htm

And their monoball block
http://www.elephantracing.com/suspen...dmonoballs.htm

Is there any reason I can't just replace the rear blocks with monoballs and still use the stock front rubber bushing?

This is mostly a track / rally car that is driven pretty hard.

Are there affordable alternatives to these?

Thx
Brian

Why did take your spindles off with your A arms?

Are you not using those caster blocks, are they in good condition?

I used the sport hardness blocks from ER for my streetcar. No complaints yet.

Edit: and their front sport hardness bushings

I really want to sell the pair, as complete assemblies, just as they are in the picture, ie good Aarms, Delrin front, Racers Edge rear, and including the eccentric bolts, again just as pictured.

Its much easier for me to simply sell the pair as is, and one shipment. This is a great low cost way to go for street or track, I have to believe there will be someone who needs a pair at some point.

Price is $500 plus shipping, which I think is a good deal considering the Racers Edge blocks are $370 alone.

FYI many years ago, I tried Polyurethane front bushings with disastrous consequences. The bushings were only any good for street use, and were quickly destroyed during a DE. I would only use the stock rubber, Delrin or monoball. Delrin is a cost effective highly reliable way to go. I switched over to RE monoball which is very expensive and doesn't buy much if anything over Delrin.

My friend has a brand new set of monoball caster blocks for sale for $260 shipped, PM me if you're interested.

I am running the same caster blocks in my car and they are excellent.

Are these arms for 86 or the 87+ cars ?

Does the delrin squeak at all or am I thinking of the Weltmeister bushings ?

Late offset 87+. No Delrin does not squeak. I used polyurethane many years ago fo the front bushings. Polyurethane is marginal for even street use (IMO). It won't hold up if the car is pushed. I have used Delrin for many years, and zero issues. I converted over to full monoball.

Thanks for the offer, I have an 86 so I am stillsearching and deciding between the updated factory castor block $180 and stock rubber in the front vs. full monoball for $650
