Post Extra Fog Lamp Switch?

I just bought the Euro driving/fog lights and am looking for the switch for the dash. If you have an extra, please post! Thanks!

I have one for the same exact reason - thankfully IceShark talked me out of wiring up that way and just running a relay (for the driving lights) off the switch for high-beam. The driving lights put out too much light to be of any use when someone's infront of you (i.e. you don't have hi beams already on). But if you're still interested, I'll sell it to you for what I paid - $10 + shipping (about $3 through USPS). It's untested by myself, but the guy I bought it from said it was tested and working fine (just so you know that you're buying an 'as is' item).

Either reply to this, or shoot me a PM/email if your interested.

The "extra" switch position in the dash is for the rear fog lamp, not the driving lamps.

The European 944 Turbo fires the driving lamps with the high beams AT ALL TIMES. To get this functionality, you need to install the European G6 bridge connector in the fuse box. Without it, the fog lamps fire as flash to pass.

That is not exactly true, H Dog, he doesn't need to get the Euro G6 bridge. The US spec cars fire the fogs AND the high beams (even though they are down) in the flash to pass.

So, if he wires the driving as Brian did, when he pulls flash to pass three sets of lights will go on: Fog, Main (high) beam and Driving. That will get people's attention.

if you search my past postings you'll find one that details how i hooked up my euro driving/fog lights. works well for me, but my iceshark light kit is still in the closet awaiting warm weather....

hey ice - whens it gonna warm up here?? or...maybe i should just grin n bear it - if i get the lights installed and turn em on, i'm sure the garage would warm up!!!

Brian, we have the same problem here - COLD, if your garage isn't heated. I've gone through about 20 gallons of kerosene in the garage heater so far.

Ok... maybe I'm just too drunk to understand right now, but did someone say that the "driving" lights only went on when you turn your high beams on? I have the euro lights, and I just acquired an additional switch, but I would most definately be interested in a more "stock" approach to the way they work... but personally, I prefer them to be on with the regular (low beam) lights... is this not the case with the euro cars?

I don't know exactly how the Euro cars are wired, however, I do know the driving lights will not work unless the main/high beams are also selected.

The reason is simple: the driving light beam pattern and intensity will really bother other road users in front of you. Real driving lights shouldn't be used when there is other traffic unless you are an inconsiderate a$$hole. And these are "Real" driving lights.

The term driving light also gets applied to auxiliary lights, however, that ain't what we have in the Bosch euro dual fog/driving.

Ok... so I just carefully examined the factory shop manual, and it looks like the euro cars had the driving lights wired up to come on only with the high beams, so whoever said that was infact 100% correct.

On that note, I will still wire in a switch (factory style) to turn the driving lights on/off. Right now, I don't have regular headlights at all, so I drive with only the driving lights with 135W PIAA bulbs. If you aim them correctly (or more towards the pavement, rather), they shouldn't bother anyone, but they do reflect, and that can annoy some, but I'll just go ahead and admit... I'm an *******, and I don't care <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
