Default OEM Brake Cooling Ducts

Does anyone have a pic of how these are mounted and whether they will fit an S2?

PET shows it as Turbo only. They mount in the lower bumper cover openings, below the fog/driving lights and pass through openings in the fender tub liners. I think the only problem w/ mounting them in an S2 is the location and shape of the S2 oil cooler on the passenger side probably interferes w/ installation of the duct on that side.

Are there any kits that utilise the fog/driving light openings with replacement smaller fog lights?

Eric, get the 968 style cooling ducts. They are significantly better than the oem turbo ones.

Ok thanks. I'll check out the local dealer price. If not, where is the cheapest to buy (in US)

Sunset. Should be about US$80 for the 4 pieces.

Cheers,

+1 for Sunset.

FYI, the bottom pieces are designed to bolt on to the lower control arm.. 944/951 arms are missing the holes needed to mount the bottom air scoops. I used zap straps/zip ties and they work fine after numerous track days.

The big advantage with the 968 scoops is that the upper halves force air into the center of the rotor more directly than the vague square 944 ducts do.

I would be a little nervous relying on zip ties. On one track I have hit 230km/h (140mph) - have you ran these with zip ties at these sorts of speed?

I should temper my statement with photos and more detail.

Here is the original writeup with photos of another rennlister who adapted 968 scoops to a 944 control arm:
https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...-write-up.html

My setup was similar except that I did not use the swaybar link to secure the scoops. I used a horizontal bar and then drilled 2 holes in it for the brake scoop (same as in the pictures) and then another 3 holes for 3 thick ZipTies which wrap around the control arm. (1/3" thickness - so VERY thick) and they don't budge, no matter how hard I tug on them. Bear in mind when you are moving the wind is actually pushing them to stay in place, and if you bottom out they just scrape a bit. Several track days where I hit 130+mph, no problem.

On a track car I would recommend a ducted cooling setup.
You may be able to pick up the rotor adapters used off ebay or a dismantler otherwise Paragon has them...http://www.paragon-products.com/Brak...4-bp-m030r.htm

For ducts you can add something simple in place of stock, also available at Paragon, Pegasus and others or go with cooling ducts in the fog light slots from AIR (pics below)...http://www.americaninternationalraci...259246&page=46

One reason I went with the AIR ducts was that I added dual oil coolers beneath the fog light slots and I already had the rotor adapters.

I ended up ordering the 968 ducts from Autoatlanta. Around US$100 incl delivery to Australia.
