Autothority MAF - Standard Airbox

Autothority MAF - Standard Airbox
Folks,
Does anyone know whether it's possible to bolt up the Autothority MAF to the standard airbox. I'm look particularly for "sleeper" mode (a la HR stage II MAF) and just bolt-on. (Really don't want the hassle and potential tuning issues with the ARM1/ARC2 - not to mention their visibility).
Also, the Autothority site claims 88RWHP for their bolt-on kit. Seems high to me - is this running at 15psi like the Stage II chips or do they crank it up further?

The visibility under the hood? Or of the controllers? You could put one on and hide the controllers like in the Glove box.
I don't think that you can just replace the flapper with a Mass Air sensor and get the same result as you would with everything that comes with the chips.

I think Lindsey has one that goes in place of the factory air meter and still uses the factroy air box, with an extension.
Stage I: This MAF kit installs in the stock air inlet boot similar to the stock airflow meter.

No one has any quantitative data on how much of the normal MAF kit's increases come from just the sensor vs. the air-cleaner. Sure there's gains to be had by removing the flapper door and its spring. But you gotta think that 5ft worth of snaking intake tracts making 90-degree bends three times has got to be restrictive to flow as well...
And the chips don't add any power in and of themselves. They just ensure that you have adequate fuel to match your increased air flow.

So the general conclusion is: don't bother with the standard air box since most of the benefits of the MAF will be negated.
If this is the case, I'll have to go with the standard aircone that comes with the MAF and swap everything back each 2 years for the inspection - not so painful from what I read
Thanks for your comments guys - now I just have to wait for an Autothority MAF to come up for sale on ebay or cough up the readies for the new unit (haven't decided yet)...
As I said in the original mail, the Autothority is my choice because it will work out of the box and won't require installing or messing around with instruments/gauges to view/adjust air/fuel mixtures - it's all done with the chips matched to the MAF. I know that purists will say it won't be optimal 'cause it depends on each car etc. but I'm happy having it "very close" rather than "spot-on".

Gary.
