Yes I would get new bolts. As I understand it, the stock axle bolts are designed to stretch when torqued, and the stretching helps keep them tight. Problem is, once they stretch, they don't "un-stretch" and the stretching is what helps keep them tight.

I know when I had the trans out this past winter, I ordered a new set of bolts just for good measure... and while I was under there, I found that 3-4 of the bolts in there had already started backing out! (I had the trans out earlier for an LSD install, and apparently the original bolts were used.) After first attempting to install the "Stage 8" bolts (where 3 out of the first 8 had the heads literally crumble as I torqued them) I tossed them and installed a new set of OE bolts instead. You could definitely feel them stretching as they were torquing.

You'll need a "triple square" socket to put them in. Snap-On carries them, you can order them online. I don't remember if it was the 8 or 10 (I ordered two 8's and two 10's at the same time.)

Thanks Omni - Do you have a link to the part number for the bolts? It is 6/side, so 12 bolts total correct?

http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Pors...3-407-237.html

I just ordered them from Lindsey. About a buck a piece.

12 bolts per axle (6 at the hub, 6 at the trans) or 24 total per car to do all the bolts on both axles.

And here's your socket:

Have someone else verify whether you need the 8 or 10mm as I don't remember for sure. I *think* it's the 8mm.

Got all 24 brand new bolts... not going to do it myself, getting it done by a shop.

I also bought some rear sway bar links to tighten things up.
