Post Please help (no spark, no fuel)....

Today my 944 turbo cut out after about 250-300 miles of hard driving with lots of short and long stops.

I see that when cranking the engine, the DME does not pulse any of the injectors, or the coil (With ignition on, injectors have 12v positive on both prongs, coil has + on one wire, nothing on the other. Cranking does not change any of this).

The car is running GURU chips, believe version 7.

I would appreciate any ideas, thanks.

250-300 miles of hard driving!! What in the hell were you doing? I understand if it is a track car, but other than that MAN. Im sure you fried up something. Check the DME for power and other than that you may want to think about a new engine.

This happened to me once and it ended up being a loose connector on one of the wires right behind the intake manifold.

You did mention you changed the boost-controller configuration around. That may have wiggled the connectors for the speed & reference sensors that coolhand mentioned.

if by speed ref. ppl are talking about the crank position / tdc sensors, that happened to me... they're cheap enough (for a p-car part) and not HORRIBLE to get at / repalce... but i'd see if you can troubleshoot which if either are bad.

The speed/reference connectors at the back of the engine gets another vote. I've had mine come unconnected after it thought they were fully engaged. Turns out the wire keeper on the bottom wasn't fully inserted and it vibrated loose a week after working on it.

I've purchased and installed another DME relay so that's not it. The speed/ref. sensors are less than a year old, and the connections look good. I don't want to throw parts at the car, anybody know a way to check the sensors? Or disabling/bypassing the factory alarm?
Thanks

Which brings up another question, anyone know which (factory) chip is DME and which is KLR?
Thanks again.

The stock '86 DME chips should be #1267355235 and the KLR is #1267355131.

My chips are numbered; 1267355183 and 1267355138.

1267355183 is marked "MALAY 8505 EV H"
1267355183 is marked "8452 EV KOREA H" on the underside.

Hmm, those are an '87 DME chip #1267355183, and KLR is #1267355138. Don't get the "183" and "138" part mixed up...

Well, my car was vandalised where it was parked so I suppose now I can work on it at the shop...

I am still looking for further feedback.
Thanks

Danno, I posted the #s as I read them. My car's an 86, and those are the chips I bought the car with... Would you like a picture?
