Post Has anyone seen this CryO² from DEI ?

http://www.designengineering.com/cryo2_related_items.html

"The CryO²™ is a revolutionary new, award winning product designed to reduce the temperature of the air/fuel intake charge thus creating power. Through the science of aerodynamics and cryogenics Design Engineering has developed a system to harness the cryogenic properties of liquid Co2 to lower the air/fuel intake charge by up to 60%. The system is modular and can be easily expanded. The CryO²™ system provides two methods of cooling the air charge and one method of cooling the fuel charge all utilizing the same burst of liquid Co². Co² is readily available at any welding supply shop or where paintball guns are charged. "

they have an intercooler sprayer and an aerodynamic egg shaped thing that you stick on your intake pipe.... looks interesting, anyone try this stuff?

And as a side note, how dangerous would it be to have compressed CO2 in your car? If there was an accident couldn't the tank rupture, spraying CO2 into the cabin of the car?

I actually started the topic a while ago. My buddy Booger bought two of the intake bulbs to run in series on the drag WRX he's working on. It's not up and running yet, but after consulting with the folks at DEI, he anticipates
intake temps well below 60 deg. F with Eaton Blower and lots of boost. I'll let you know what the actual temp reductions are.

Sure why not? Get the best of both worlds with stump-pulling bottom end (4-wheel smoke) as well as a turbo top-end. Lancia did it in their Delta group-B rally car about two decades ago.

Eaton blower, gaseous/liguid intercooler, two DEI intake coolers, valve train modified to rev to 10k, custom rear end and transmission.
700hp is the goal. No turbo.

CO2 use for cooling a combustion engine? Wonder if my kindergarden teacher lied about C02 being used in fire extinguishers....

Wil Carbon deposit on Intake valves?

Sorry... i was sleeping during chemistry lessons.

Spraying C02 into the intake would not go so well for cumbution.....

Looking at their pictures on the web site wouldn't that large bulb decreace airflow? It looks aerodynamic, but still we are always trying to get better flow, would the the drop in temp more than offset the impedence of air flow?

And did we ever get prices?

you have to go to their dealer pages and search the part numbers for prices but i was thinking maybe my shop should become a dealer and sell me a discounted kit to test out
