Made it home yesterday at about 5:00. Smooth sailing the whole way. I went ahead and ordered some parts from Sunset to fix minor stuff - interior trim and hood struts for instance...

I had to do some research before I posted about it but wanted to share this story. On the way home I had an incident with what must have been a 06 or 07 Saturn Ion on a track by the highway. I guess there was a Red Line option for them with a supercharged 2.0L 4 cylinder motor that with some factory upgrades would put down 241hp and 218tq?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_Ion

Anyways - even though the 23 yr old 951 held its own on acceleration and top speed and handling I was amazed at how what was one of the fastest production cars in 1989 was now so close to the speeds of a Saturn...

Yeah your mom's sedan has 300hp these days. Glad you had a little fun though.

I had a simulated run with a 4.6L Genesis Sedan in the C5. It stayed within 2 car lengths of my bumper until I guess it ran out of gearing/hit its limiter/driver lost nerve.

Surprised the hell out of me, I was expecting to run away. Looked it up when I got home and the damn thing has 30 more hp than the LS1 in the C5. They apparently now have a 5.0L with 430hp and a supposed supercharged 5.5L in the pipeline

944 turbo is 25 years old. It's not even remotely quick by today's standards. Sorry.

Too bad it's not an S2, I'd be interested in the tranny. Nice car. Get back on the track!
