Post Broken nut (?) in rear spoiler

hi all,

my rear spoiler was flapping about a bit, so i took it off and i've discovered that one of the 'nuts' has broken off the metal frame inside the spoiler. It's one of the ones on the end so I'm kind of keen to re-attach it. What it is is it's a little round threaded insert that was somehow attached into the frame previously, and it seems to have broken loose.

I tried some two-part epoxy which was a dismal failure, and I'm pretty much out of ideas (yes, already ). Any ideas as to how I might reattach it?

Is the nut missing, or is the entire nut and thread gone?

no, it's just torn off/out of the metal frame. i'm not really sure how it was attached in the first place.
