Post boost controller ??

I just put my Guru chips in and want to add the reliaboost but my car had other aftermarket chips and some other old kind of bleed valve.
Is this it....im 99% sure it is...
<a href="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/bc.jpg" target="_blank">http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/bc.jpg</a>

Should i add the reliaboost to the banjo bolt on the intercooler ?? and what should i do with the valve in the pic?
How should i route everything?

Hi, I believe I have the same "screw" in my car.
I had Superchips with this manual boost controller.
I bought the guru chip kit, and we decided not to install the reliaboost.
I can manually control the boost level by turning the screw on or off.
If you decide to install the reliaboost, I would take the old one away.

I'm going to my car, so I'll check, if that in fact is the same kind of MBC.

sybelix,
yes superchips are what i took out of mine so i bet you have the same MBC. Is it true that some older MBC will slowly bleed off boost and not hold it 100% till it needs to release boost. Im going to add the reliaboost.
Is it best to add it where the old one is, on the line coming from the CV down to the WG.
Or should i add it at the banjo bolt on the intercooler pipe?
Or should i by-pass the CV?

Hi lutz;
here are the installation instructions for reliaboost.
<a href="http://www.boostsciences.com/ReliaBoost1.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.boostsciences.com/ReliaBoost1.pdf</a>

Take the current MBC away, if you're gonna put the reliaboost.

My current problem is definatelly NOT the lack of boost, actually quite opposite..
Her boost is now 1,25 Bar = 18psi
and I can't go any lower..??
The MBC seems to be kinda stuck; at least that's what it feels like. And if I turn it to the other way, the boost goes up..
(Believe me we tried, and went all the way up to 23 psi..not too healthy.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> )

What is your current boost?

My boost was at 15-17psi. It was hard to tell with the gauge that was in the car, its small and hard to read. My new gauge should be here today.

I`ll look through some other posts...i think i saw a post that can have the reliaboost in two different locations.

Did you take it all the way out and make sure its good and clean in there? Mine seems to adjust both ways for me, seems to work ok.

Lutz, do your Super Chips have that extra socket?? If so can you tell what is the right orientation of that upper chip (DME chip)?? I have Turbo-Tommy's (Sybelix) old chips and we remove that upper chip. Now i can't remember how it was installed.

I would not install jetted Banjo bolt if i had to choose from Relia boost or MBC which came with Super chips. You & Tommy can consider to by pass CV though.

Tommy, you might want to install the Reliaboost near the banjo-bolt and run a line directly from it to the wastegate. Most likely you have a leak somewhere that's preventing full pressure from reaching the wastegate, thus the excessive boost.

I too have that thing with my super chips. Once the reliaboost gets installed, it will run straight from the banjo bolt to the wastegate. That old bleed valve is coming right out.

she is workin perfectly..
We are planing, well, Olli and me ( Olli is the technical person, I'm just the driver.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> )removing the current MBC, and replacing it with the reliaboost, or relocate the MBC and move the screw into the cockpit..

Olli,
Well it looks like my digital cam is not working, looks like i need to shop for new one.
So to get the orientation of things use the 9th and 10th pic down on Dannos site.....
<a href="http://members.rennlist.com/951_racerx/ChipsInstall.html" target="_blank">http://members.rennlist.com/951_racerx/ChipsInstall.html</a>

The little cut out on the superchip was facing up using the pic above. I put the guru chip in the same.

Yes no problems with Guru chips. These Suprchips use extra socket and i want to know what is the right orienation of chip when it is installed to this socket. I wonder why there is in first place this extra socket or what ever it is.
I have a set of Guru chips, but i might have a prospect who wants to buy these Superchips. Don't want to fry the chip.

Olli,
im not sure if i know what you mean. I was told my chips were superchips but now i dont know. They look just like the guru chips.
Maybe mine are not superchips?? all they have on them is a piece of tape on the top that is hand written on:
The DME chip says 944 TF.32
The KLR chip says 944 TI.32

But i pulled out all the past paper work on the car and there is a bill for superchips and bleed valve. Like i said they look just like the guru ones so i put them in the same way.

Do you have a pic of your chip?
