Angry Power windows dont seem to get power HELP

but if i pull them out of the door and apply twelve volts directly to the backside of the switch, they work normally.

seems like the power supply to the switch is bad. could this be relay related? or am i likely looking for a short somewhere in the harness where it enters the door?

anyone else run into this?

Should have power on pins 4 & 5 of both switches on the drivers side. If not and the fuse at position 4 is good then check Relay G7 by jumping pins 87 & 30 with a short wire. Do windows work? Need to know what happens then to go any further.

If fuse & swithches are OK, then check the relay G7

well, jumping the relay didnt work...but running 12 volts directly to post 4 of the drivers side window switch works fine and lets the windows work normally.

next guesses?

Verify with a volmeter or test light that you have power coming out of that relay with the key on (terminal 87). You may have to wrap a paper clip or wire around the relay terminal then plug it in to get an in-circuit reading. Assuming you do have power coming out of the relay I would say your problem is in the door harness where it goes through the flexible rubber. Probably stressed the wire in two. I believe the wire is Red w/Blue. There is also a splice connection in the door where that 1 wire turns into 4. Check that if you can verify the power is getting through the rubber flex connector. Let me know what you find next.

May sound stupid, but clean the switches THOROUGHLY with contact cleaner.
