This is what I have in mine currently, though I am aware that there are multiple generations and versions. It runs well (but quite rich) with a new 2.5 BAR FPR. Not very refined, mind you. And the car uses a lot of gas!

^ interesting... I have a lot of gas
O wait we're talking about the 951 lol.. I get around 23mpg with mine and it goes thru gas but I also have two injectors that I'm going to replace I suspect them of leaking. Hoping to get it closer to the 25-30mpg range.

I was getting about 24-26MPG in my 951 when I was running Autothority Stage II chips. My car came with them, and had the original 2.5 bar FPR.

I got great gas mileage with my Autothority chips, 25-27 mpg avg.

I also did things like weld the aluminum hose ends onto the intake manifold, had a phenolic intake spacer kit, ceramic coated exhaust, 2 shims in the wastegate, no cat - all helped with a denser charge air (or just more in general in the case of the shims)

AFR's were in the low 11's at the richest point, logged with my Zeitronix

You welded the Hard pipes to the manifold? Pictures? That must be a PIA to work on but no more popping TB to hard pipe coupler!

After experiencing issues with my car stumbling under boost, I am pretty sure that one of the causes of the problems is the fact that the Autothority stage II chips that I'm running aren't quite up to snuff.

Two questions that I have:

1) Does anyone have any information on what boost pressure Autothority stage II chips were designed for? What are theh specs?

2) What is this A-tune of which you speak?

Thanks in advance for any help

The Autothority chips are only safe up to 15 PSi. They use a banjo bolt that is slightly modified to help fool the KLR into allowing 15 PSI.

Fantastic news.

The PO of my car claimed 21 psi, and this is confirmed with an aftermarket boost gauge.

However, his set up is using Autothority stage II chips, which I now know are only rated to 15 psi.

On top of that, the only other mods he made to the car a 3 bar FPR, Autothority MAF, and a Lindsey Racing boost enhancer.

This leads me to more questions.

1) He must have it set up so the only thing controlling peak boost pressure is the boost enhancer, right? Isn't that BAD?

2) What is a reasonable chip to use if I want to maintain 21 psi? Will I have to have one custom programmed?

Again, thanks in advance for any assistance.

If you are running the Autothority MAF then I think you can run up to 18 PSI. What kind of turbo do you have?

The turbo is the one that came stock on the car (1988 model year).
So that would be the K26-6 yes?

If it were the Turbo S it would have the K26-8.

Would you be able to run 18 psi with a boost enhancer alone (without a boost controller)

Also, I'm still concerned from what I've heard about the Autothority chips running rich or lean depending on the rpm range.

In theory, a MAF sensor should correct for that problem, but will it?
