coolant socket bolts
The coolant socket at the front of the cylinder head, anyone know who has those bolts in stock and doesnt require a minimum order?

That part number is for the coolant neck at the back of the head (under the cycling valve).
If you are referring to the bolts marked as 42 in this picture, then they are standard 8.8 allen head bolts you can get any good hardware store. I've never been able to find them on PET or get their official part numbers. One is M8 x 1.25 x 35mm and the other is M8 x 1.25 x 55mm. Ace Hardware generally has them, or Home Depot or Lowes....
The helicoil is M8 x 1.25 if needed.

I was thinking of the little head bolts around the coolant port. The OP's part number is for the coolant neck at the rear of the head, so not sure which he wants -- either way, though are M8 x 1.25 bolts, just need to get the right lengths.

Sorry about the confusion. I meant to refer to the neck at the front of the head. I didn't realize there were two different gaskets when I ordered one and it turned out I ordered the wrong one. The one I really needed to replace is now leaking bad enough I can't drive the car after getting the new water pump back on. The bolts for the mounting flange are in bad shape so I want replace all four bolts when I change the gasket and be prepared for rethreading if the those thread in the head are shot as well.

Take a close look to make sure the bolts for the mounting flange are not contacting the neck. Folklore says Porsche originally sold thin-headed bolts for the mount, so that the neck could sit flush. I tried to order them from Porsche but got regular bolts... So, I ground the heads done a bit so the neck would clear. Worth paying close attention to, if you are having a leak at the neck.

Not to jack the thread, but could use some help with these two bolts. I have been removing my head and came across problems with the #42 bolts. I sheered one and had to cut the head off the other. I figured that was the last thing to worry about before the head came off (i had also remove the head nuts as well). Gave it a few blows with a dead blow hammer and it never seemed to break the seal. Gave it a few more whacks and some prying and still didnt move. What am I missing? I know because those two #42 bolts are still in there its going to be that much more difficult for it to be removed, but I thought that I would still be able to pry it off like normal. Any advice? Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I had the same issue but instead of using a socket head screw, I went with a hex head which will give you sufficient clearance.

Btw, what is the torque value for these bolts, 10lbs enough? It looks like the gasket split from too much torque having been applied, probalby by me some years back - oops.

Tom, thanks for the torque value.
The car is back on the road. Sounds a bit different but I'm thinking that's due to the new air box not having a hole in it. I still have a rattle coming from somewhere under the car though, need to figure that out.
btw, is there a kricket value for the alt, ac compressor belt? The new one I got was shorter and I had to change the strut length quite a bit and it still seems tight to me. May have to get a new strut if I cant break the other end loose to shorten it up more. Now if only I had a working ac system lol.
