Post Borla XR-1 — How loud?

Can anyone who has installed an XR-1 on their street car comment on how loud it is?

Thanks.

I have the 2.5" XR-1 that's 16" long with no cat and it's not that loud. At about 3200 rpm on the highway it drones a bit, but above or below that rpm it's fine. At the track my car seems like it's one of the more quiet ones there. the overall noise level seems greater at idle and lower rpms. When you're really getting on it it's not that loud.

I know Tony G's exhaust Tim @ SFR made for him is supposed to be quite quiet. It uses 3 XR-1's in it - pricy though. I'd like to hear it in person sometine. I have the std. cat back from SFR w/ the Bullet muffler and it is pretty. . . um, obvious.

That's awesome Tony. I found that muffler local here for $130. Is that a good price? Also what tip are you using.

$130 for the muffler installed? For a XR-1? If so, then that's a good price.

Check out www.summitracing.com They have fairly competitive prices for stuff.

Summit is good, be sure to get the 16" XR-1 as it's significantly quieter.

Why is it that everybody's car is louder than mine? I have no cat or muffler ( 2 3" resonators) My car is too quiet.

It must be a matter of opinion. A 951 with no cat or muffler will still be MUCH quieter than an S2 with a test pipe.
