Default 968 MO30 Sway Bars

If you have been shopping for 968 MO30 Sway Bars, you probably already know the front bar has been discontinued. We purchased everything from Porsche including what we found using the US Dealer Locate. Those we sold
out of 30 days ago. At this time, finding a new one would be almost impossible unless from a individual letting one go.

If you had the bars on your list of upgrades, and had planned to buy a set this year, this may seem like bad news. Now for the good news.

As you know, we already produce a LR version of the 19 3 way Porsche rear bar. We already have in production as we type a 30mm hollow LR version of the front bar. No Adjustment, but just a copy of the original bar now discontinued. So they will live on but under a different brand name. We don't expect the price to be any higher then Porsche received for the bar.

In addition, we are almost ready to pull the trigger on a 35mm front and a 22mm 5 way rear version. This pair is 85% stiffer then the 30/19 combo yet retains the exact same front to rear proportion and balance as the 30/19 sizes.

This could allow for lighter springs (better ride) yet stay flat on the corners.

We would like to gauge the interest in the 35/22 idea and see if there would be any interest in a group buy on the either set to kick off their re-introduction and release.

We are probably 30 days out on the 30 and a little more on the 35/22.

Definitely interested. I love track days, but I want my car to ride "nice" on the city streets/highways that my commute forces me to drive on every day too. Stiff bars with moderate springs are exactly what I want!

I'm working on buttoning up an order right now with Dave & Traci... I'm glad you guys (and gals) up at LR are still finding places to improve our hobby, thanks!!

Hi Mike,

What would be the lowest spring rates that you would suggest being paired with the 35/22 combo? That seems pretty stiff and I wouldn't want to be over-stiff relative to the spring rate necessarily. With that being said I have stock bars with 285lb (F) and 28mm (R). Any suggestion on which combo would be better balanced?

Sign me up for a set.

Just tell me which size I should buy...lol

Street only with stock suspension (in great shape) looking for a stiffer/more responsive ride. Future Koni sports all around.

Thanks Mike/ Dave.

Yup, bad news for me as I've been thinking about one, but hey, I already have your 19mm rear bar so what the heck!

Are some super stiff support brackets going to be made to compliment that huge 35 front bar? The 968 M030 front bars are known to crack the factory supports, and even bend/crack the KLA swaybar support braces.

I'm in Mike. I need a set of stiffer swaybars but I really do not like the Tarret or Welt swaybars.

The Porsche bar was hollow (as ours will be) and on the ends, they swege the metal down to the smaller diameter for the drop links. This company doesn't have those capabilities, and that may be my Porsche said it's cost prohibitive to make. This company machines a insert that slips in the tube and is welded. They have done this before, and said no reason not to do it here. They have already reproduced the tight bends with inserted end to be sure they can with the short distance between bends. They are producing a finished sample that's heat treated & powder coated.

This sample 30mm bar for our approval is to be shipped to us late next week. If approved, then into production we go. Pricing will be the same as the Porsche bar last was.

Since we are about to produce more 19 5 way rears as well, we thought maybe coating our bars
something besides black might be desirable.

They work with all standard colors. Any thoughts on red or blue bars or another color? Or stick with
black?

What will be the wall thickness? I obtained a 30MM 030 968 bar fron Sunset Porsche a few months ago. It was marked with a label stating the wall thickness was 4.5mm. I believe the specs I have seen in the past were for a 4mm wall thickness.

Although I did buy yellow plug wires from LR , I prefer to stick with black bars.

It's not 4 or 4.5mm. Our sample was drilled and measured.

The manufacturer wants us to look at the 30mm, and make sure we like that before they we move ahead with a 35mm sample.
