Thumbs up Kudos to my mechanic!

Well, I was supposed to be getting my turbo water pump and master cylinder replaced the other day. The pump was done fine, but yesterday he called & notified me that the parts place had sent him the wrong master cylinder. Knowing that I needed my car to drive to work the next day, he went to the store, got the parts, and worked on my car until he finished last night, at 10:30 PM. Then he drove over to my house and picked me up to bring me to get my car. While we were test driving it to make sure it was okay, he spent about 10 minutes and several trips around the block to try to help me troubleshoot another problem with my car. What a great guy! If you're in the area & need someone to work on your car, I would suggest you look up PS Racing in Burbank. It's a p-car only shop. I have no affiliation, just a very satisfied customer!

German Motor Works, in the Strip District, gonna end up costing some money for rings and a new head gasket. i can understand the mistake, but they ARE supposed to be proffesionals. all they did was accidentally tighten my LBE all the way to 20 psi, i guess because they thought it was just a normal nut and screw...didnt notice the spring inside i guess. oh well, win some lose some. be sure to give a beep if you see me cruising around town though, i havent seen a white 951 with the white fuchs yet...ill be on the lookout.

Matt,

Sorry to hear that. I took my car to them for a brake flush/state inspection a few months after I bought the car, based upon the recommendation of a VW guy. After picking it up, I decided that they aren't really equipped to do 951s, and are definately geared more towards 912s, 914s, and VWs. The mechanic I spoke to readily admitted as much(I was talking to him about the gorgeous blue/ivory early Beetle that their owner has). They do know their Volkswagens, just not the upscale cousins. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
