I have an opportunity to buy a Recaro Cloth Sport Seat in Black just like the ones in the photo below....no sliders...and just the Driver Seat for $250.00.

I can find any info or pricing here or over at pelican.

Well even in cloth, Recaro and $250 are not two things you see together! Really a no brainier, the stock seat belts will be an issue though unless it's the same as the picture? As far as I know the female latch is welded to the stock seat frame?

 

Good price, if you want to use it on the track with harnesses make sure it has the slot in the seat bottom as the one in the picture you post does. The slot is an option when purchasing new.

Its a very decent seat .... I think it was around 700. 00 back in the 80's
Its not really a track seat because the lower bolsters are not big enough to keep your leg from getting bruised after a day of hard cornering at the track ...
That's a very good deal if the seat material is in very good shape ...
My seat doesn't have that 6 pt harness hole in the bottom of the seat which I guess would help a lot in keeping your *** planted in the seat

PS they can be recolored if need be fabric dye.

 

it is mint and has then hole in the center...exactly like the photo except black, looks like I'm buying it on Monday..just because of it being such a good deal.

Two important points I forgot to mention
MY seat didnt have a inner console latch for the seat belt
So I had to mount a steel wire to the floor to have the female portion of the seat belt buckle secured. There was no adapter for that ...
Also I had to mount the seat to floor because the adapters were bringing up he seat too high for my frame ( to fit a helmet on ) Otherwise my head would hit the sun roof ...

assuming its the srd on craigslist i would suggest grabbing it, we were going to but i just dont have the time to make it down.

 

not on craiglist.....it is safe and sound...and will be in my truck on Monday / Tuesday at the latest....I just happened to meet a guy who races and just installed new sparcos and it is sitting there in the shop.

 

These seats are great. With the sub strap hole they go for $800 new I believe. With a set of 5-6 point harnesses you won't move at all in them on the track. I ran them in my first 951. I have fixed back seats now and while they're better on the track they're not as comfortable as these recaros for the street.

 

Just so you know i have a matching single seat if you decide you want to go for a pair. I also have new matching covers available...

The SRD is no longer produced by recaro only the somewhat similar speed so sourcing single seats can be kind of difficult. If you are not interested in a match would you be interested in selling your single or doing a partial trade for a matching set of a different recaro?

 

Buy it... i have these 5 exact seats 3 black seats with white stitching and 2 black with red stitching.
