Post Large Injectors

Injectors like 65-75 lb/hr gives a rich fuel mixture or may be bad vaporization during idle/low rpm.

Do this also mean that washing cylinder walls could be an fatal results !!??

(I have already overbore no.1 and dont like to do this again in the near future <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> )

Sorry for my bad English..

it depends on teh static volume. the 993TT injectors are 55 lbs but it runs leaner than the stock 37 lbs 951 injectors because they have a lower static volume.

I have 83 lb. injectors with a Tec3. The idle is lumpy when cold but not too bad when warmed up. As you noted it is rich. In my case it is a track only car and I don't let the car idle too much. For the street you might have a problem.

Chris White has a combo street/track car with large injectors and I don't believe he has a problem.

What type of engine management are you using?

Regards,

Alan

It all comes down to how you're controlling the injectors. Just because they are large doesn't automatically mean anything. I've got some 160-lb/hr injectors if someone wants to try some really big ones....

Konstatin:
So what you are saying is that there is big difference in the technical construction for the injectors!? Even if both is from Bosch? The 6 holes Dephi Injectors gives better vaporizing during high load therefore i choose them.

Can you explain more about the "static" volume? Is it a "camber" with "rest" fuel after the needle have closed? No i must miss understand this...

Alan C.
I have ordered Gurus MAP II Simply because i do think this is the most flexible and best solution for reliable engine management for the money. I don't wana use the hot wire method simply because i dont think the hot wire is stabile in long term use especially with a wet (oil) filter in front.
This claim is may be false but VW and Audi .. even Porsche have had problems with their MAF.
LR's MAF and others is may be 1 generation newer and betther .. I don't know..

Danno.
Yes but we do have a minimum time to battle with to the end.. and how big do the inj. have to be before this time/inj.size gives more negative effect than high co on low rpm/idle..

I send you some pictures of my exhaust just to get sure due the Exhaust order.

Have a nice weekend

got 160's in a turbo camaro with fast FI that I help tune and it idles fine granted the pw is turned down extremely low during idle conditions but it doesn't see street duty.
