can't blame ya for trying...

Well I took the car for a drive this morning and got into Wot in first gear which to my shock actually got 10psi, which it usually is. I think getting that huge leak fixed at the muffler helped a lot. I checked for vac leaks and I'm good. I check the front of the exhaust and everything appears to be fine. So once the other minor leaks are fixed I should be good.

I dont know i doubt the leak at the muffler had anything to do with it. Did he reinstall the old muffler bearings?

I think the problem is that your car is upside down. Put it back right side up and it will run better.

Seriously folks – back pressure on the exhaust side of the turbo will not make it spool faster – and leaks on the exhaust side will not make it boost less or slower.

However – welding on the car exhaust while connect to the engine without discontenting the battery may annoy the hell out of your electronics!

I recall hearing that 935s were notoriously under-performing cars due to excessively low back pressure from oversized open exhaust....

Nope it's an NA with a leafblower taped to the intake
The leak at the muffler has no effect on boost. Look for a vac leak and check for leaks between the exhaust manifold and the turbo. AFTER the turbo, leaks make no difference in spool.

I'm surprised that thing even runs, what with those to huge exhaust leaks at the end of the exhaust pipes.

Just joking of course. For a more helpful response, re-read Chris W's post. He is right.

Cyclone: the only way i know how to check for exhaust leaks is to run some sea foam through a vacuum line. This produces alot of smoke and may make your engine run rough through the process but it is good at making leaks obvious.

Any one have any better solutions?

lol. I just saw a 917 at Brumos that had the same problem. Terrible performer!
