Some of the boxster wheels need a small spacer (1/16”) in order to fit the 944 hub.

I have the same wheel sizes/offset that you listed on my 89 951. I don't know how they will match to an 87 but they are fine on an 89 with stock ride height.

What size tires are you going to put on? My old tires are...

F -- 215/45/17
R -- 255/40/17

I'm looking to get some new rubber and would like to put on these...

F -- 225/40/17
R -- 275/40/17

Has anybody fit a 275/40 on a 9 inch rim? Street use only.

I've got 275/40/17s on my 9 inch rears. This is just about the widest (most rubber on the pavement) you can go I think, and the bit of bulge protects the rims when you do a lousy job of backing into a parking spot

Jss -- Those tires should be fine as well.

Kahlveen -- Do you have any pics of your tire/rim setup? Im curious to see how 'meaty' they look.

I'd agree. For the rears, the 245/40/17 will get you to about the same overall diameter and section width as the stock (88 and above I think) 245/45/16. The 255/40/17 will get you a bit more rubber on the road, but you'll be increasing your sidewall height and overall diameter.
Great site for comparing tire sizes:

I'll try to snap a few later today. I've had zero issues running this setup, but if I had it to do over again, I'd probably go with the 245 or 255s. They are usually a much cheaper tire.
