Factory boost gauge ?
I am in the process of building a 968 turbo cabriolet and want to make the factory boost gauge work, Could someone point me in the right direction ? TIA

It is controlled via the DME/KLR. On turbo cars there is a small plug where the Tach signal/oil level among other things is sent out. That as far as I know is where the boost signal is sent to the dash gauge. Altho it isn't that accurate and most choose to run an aftermarket gauge with a greater resolution.

Thanks Darwin, I am looking for wire colors or pin numbers and which of the 3 plugs on the back of the cluster to add the wires to ! I spent today chasing wires and making custom manual harness. Originally car was a tiptronic.

This thread may help -- it's the red-white wire in the red 4-wire connector under the glove box, but I've never traced it up to the cluster. I'm sure it's in the wiring manual...

The 968 electrical system is quite a bit different than a 951. Are you going to convert to a 951 gauge cluster? You may run into some interesting issues if you do that.
What are you running for engine management? The 968 DME is way different than a 951…..

I had to modify your avatar to reflect your project…..’casue it takes some ***** to attempt what you are doing!!!
BTW – take note on the ignition system (968 & S2 use a different ignition power set up) – the A/C system is also powered differently, in the 968 the DME controls the A/C clutch.
