5w30 is not for track at all, and not thoose oil temps!
5w50 (not the best)
10w50
10w60
15w50
20w50
pure 50weight mineral is baaaad for coldstarts, but hey, guess you dont have same climate as me
all thould be fine for track, my favorite is around 10w60 (tws motorsport)
for my yankedoodle bigblock I run 25w50 pennzoil.
also, how big is your oil cooler?
big oil cooler, = coooler oil = less for radiator to do, mount one where intercooler used to sit.. allthough that might be hard juding by your air intake, you cna mount it just above brake air scoops or similar on each side though. blocking the air to radiator or messing with the very good porsche ducts is not smart.
also make sure you radiator is clean, on my boxster I got 4lbs of sand out of them
it was running hot.

I used the TWS 10w60 in my M3. Good stuff and ungodly expensive. Course I just gave 2 quarts of it away thinking I didn't need it anymore! I can find 15w50 Mobil 1 easily near me, I may try that next.
Oil cooler is a Mocal 11x8x3 with a 180 thermostat. Biggest I could fit without front mounting it and blocking the AC condenser and radiator.
Brake cooling ducts are popping off the sides and not obstructing the radiator. Not sure how clean the radiator/AC condenser are...

Is he running an LSx series V8?? I run Brad Penn 10w-40 in spring and 20w-50 in the Summer. OE LS series V8s call for 10w-30 because of the bearing clearances which are tighter than the pre LSx series V8s. But I have a personal problem running a 30 weight oil with the rpms that are used on the track.

the only reason you run 5w20 5w30 etc on the ls from factory is the enviromental reason, meaning marginally less drag, meaning less fuel use. its not for track!
mobil1 15w50 shold be good
you can get the TWS for around $10 per liter aprox in the US, here it costs around $30...
pics of your cooler?

I've got pics of my oil cooler in my build thread on this forum.
Yeah, but $10 a liter is a lot when I'm going to be using 8-9 liters of it!
