Default Original vs low profile turbo temp sensor?

Just about to order some stuff for my new turbo install but I'm a little unsure about the low profile temp sensor.

My mechanic says that it's probably possible to loose the big connector on the original sensor, cut the pin down a bit and solder the cable directly to the pin and save the cost for a new sensor?

Does anyone have a picture of the low profile sensor or even better a side to side comparison picture?

Edit - sorry, I thought that would show the photo!

There might be a couple of how it sits in one of my photobucket sub-albums.....http://s1189.photobucket.com/albums/...rbo%20Install/

Napa has them for $56 each, special order Part number FS158, rock auto doesnt list it, so no real idea of OEM fittment, but other threads list it to work perfectly!

Seen that NAPA pno before but with shipping to Sweden and VAT it becomes one expensive sensor.... so I was hoping to source it locally.

Got it from Tim at SFR when I bought my first hybrid turbo a few years ago.
