He is mad at me because I called him Dexter in the Boxster forum post entitled - "best performance upgrades for Boxster S"

That is what you call getting mad?Im just responding to someone who started name calling, doesn't mean I'm mad.Im from NY my skin is thicker then that. I just came over here because I like all Porsches, saw the thread and responded.Just don't see any purpose or fun in drag racing.

autobahn, we're cool, but there was no other reason why you posted a comment like that other than to get flamed, so let the flaming begin!

I didnt realize the cobra's weighed that much..holy cow!! my friends 95 cobra without the aluminum only weighed in at 3400 lbs....why does the new one weigh so much?? and to any person that has a problem with drag racing...why post on here and talk smack?? i.e. "wipping a guy in a straight line is no fun and doesnt take any skill"
Didnt your monther ever tell you that if you cant say anything nice dont bother saying anything at all?? I love all racing..as long as its safe!!

"Get beat by a cobra in a 951 off the line dude you need launch lessons!"

LOL Ok,
No I don't just don't have the money or intention to abuse my car that much or damage my clutch by slipping it. The 944 Turbo has always been a hard car to launch if you can do better with out abuse to the drive train then kudos to you!

Yeah, I fried my clutch in a single night of drag-racing starts against some ricers in San Jose. Definitely not worth the cost of a clutch job...

TonyG,

quote:
I'm not sure where got that weight figure, but it ain't even close to correct.

My intent was to give the guy a general idea of the performance of the 951, and NOT do a technical dissertation with imperical evidence to proof. So if being within 6.5% of your version of accuracy (Variables: 1/4 tank, no spare, bunny slippers in trunk, etc.) is "AIN"T EVEN CLOSE" then I stand corrected. Add another 1 1/2lb per horsepower.

....but I guess you could also debate the 220 hp figure (subtract 5hp for bad gas, another 2hp for poor tune, .01hp for all the hot air you throw around, etc.).

There are times when being absolutely correct is required (discussing timing vs boost vs fuel quality vs temp, etc.) and others that are not (like this post). I now see how some people get offended by your remarks.
