How loud is the sound. My turbo water pump continues to circulate water through the turbo to cool it down after shutting the engine off. This is what it is supposed to do. It makes a funny squealing sound but it is not loud. Could this be the sound you are referring to?

Shortyboy, Next time you kill the engine pop the hood and check this little guy to see if the sound is coming from here.

I've had a bad alternater make a "tinging" sound at shutdown. I've also heard that type of noise from a poorly installed throw-out bearing - those numerous metal rings spinning around loose. You need to get a better idea of exactly where the noise is comming from.

probably your water pump..trying to cool down the turbo.....nothing really to worry about..this is normal...the sound is loud enough to be hered...try poping the hood after you shut the car off and trying to get a better feel for where the noise is coming from .
