Turbo Waterpump Test?
I have my pump out of the car and want to test it.
I know that it runs because I wired it directly to a 12v source. Should the pump when submerged in water move the water out the outlet?Mine des not when hooked up.Does this pump just act as a pusher of water and would not be able to draw water out of something?
I tried the archives, but didn't find a ggod explanation of how to test/flush the pump.

Unplug the sensor connector. Stick a nail into the female end of the connector and ground it. The pump should run for about 30-seconds. You'll see bubbles and water flowing into the resevoir (if the coolant is cold, take off the cap and look in).

Sounds good Danno, but what if I have the pump in just a bucket of water. Should it not push water then, by putting the inlet side into the bucket of water and then powering it up?
I am not entirely sure of this process but sounds like it should be this way.

You need to prime the pump to remove all air. That's done in the car by the water-pump which pushes water through the turbo and into the side of the electric pump.
If you can somehow pump up water into the side of the pump, then turn it on, you'll see it squirting out the bottom.
So the methodology here is you need to hook up some hoses to the pump to direct the water flow.
