Here are the items needed to remove stickers on the body without damaging the paint.

The P/O had financed his car through a Ford dealership. The dealership's sticker was still on the back of my car. I used a simple hair dryer to heat up the glue. I figured that using a heat gun would generate too much heat and maybe damage the paint finish. After all, heat guns are used to strip paint. Then after a minute or two, enough heat had transfered to glue such that it had now partly melted and I was able to use the metal spatula to verrry gently pry up the edge of the sticker. At this point, because of the heat, the sticker could 'slide' of the paint surface. Once enough of the sticker edge was up in the air, I could grab it between my thumb and index finger and slowly peel it off the paint. Afterwards, I clean the residual glue with rubbing alcohol and voilà!
Now, if I look at the paint surface at a certain angle I can still see a very faint outline of the sticker. I may need to use rubbing compound to finish the job. But for now it looks great.

i prefer this rubber disc from 3m (not sure the exact name) - it's like an eraser. you chuck it up in a drill, and rub the corner of the sticker, then you can safely pull the whole thing off, or if not, use the disc to do so.

David,
Yeah, I see how that would also work because the rubbing action from the rubber would also generate enough heat to melt the glue.
On another subject, will you be selling many parts from your wrecked car? I might be in the market for a number of items. email me straight_018@hotmail.com

David,
Items I'm looking for:
- Inside plastic liners of the front wheel wells
- My car's power steering was removed at one point and only the rack and steering column are p/s. There is no pump, no reservoir, no P/S lines. According to my mechanic, even the steering column might be bent and so I would essentially need a full P/S system.
- Radiator fan assembly with fans and connectors
- Front lower control arms (left balljoint is shot)
- A/C condensor
I'm basically looking for these items, but I don't know if it makes sense (economically, US-CDN exchange rate, shipping costs, customs). Still let me know, and feel free to contact me personally through email.
Thanks,
Andre
