Post The whining noise is back!

I just realized that when it gets cold, the noise starts. It's coming from the back of the car, but I'm not sure from where. If I'm making a turn or going straight, it doesn't matter; it starts when I accelerate. Can someone help me here? Thanks.

Just a shot in the dark, but check/change your trans fluid...

I noticed my trans had a little whine to it when I drove around without the hatch area sound proofing...

It could be your trans on the way out too...

Sounds like it might be the fuel pump. They apparently always whine when they're getting old. I had this sound from the back of my car last year when it got warm and humid and it was the fuel pump.

Do you sometimes get the sound when you're at a standstill? Does the whining change with speed?

Also if your fuel pressure regulator or dampener are bad the excess pressure in the fuel system will cause your fuel pump to whine.

I don't get the noise when it gets hot, I get the noise when it gets cold. I think i hear a really really faint whining noise when I'm not moving. But i'm not sure. It only happens when it's cold.
I'll let you guys know. Thanks

Well, I found out the noise that I hear when the car is sitting still. It's the turbo. The turbo is whining when it's sitting at idle. I'm pretty sure that's not the noise when I drive. Someone told me it could be the driveshaft. If the fuel pump whines, is it a constant whine? The sound I have sounds like this: "Wee Wee Wee Wee" And it slows down as I slow down. any other help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Mine was a pretty constant whining from what I remember ... it did get louder as I drove, but it was quite audible at standstill. Like I said, my occurence was during hot/humid days in early summer.

But y would your turbo be whining at idle? It's not moving at this point is it?

I don't know. I hear a whining sound from that area. I can't be anything else.
