Default E10 and FQS setting

I have been trying to iron out some running problems while the car is both warming up and at low loads. It would occasionally stumble down low or cough and it would get better as the engine warmed up but would still show up from time to time. For a while I figured it was just the nature of the beast.

After doing some reading in another thread about E10 needing ~4% more fuel to reach stoich I went out and switched the FQS to position 1 (+3% fuel, no ign cut) and immediately noticed a difference. The car seemed to cold start faster, have less hesitation in low load situations (<2.5k RPMS), and just overall seemed to run much better. There was no real change once the turbo kicked in, it still pulled as strong as ever.

Now, is this all in my head or has anybody else experienced similar results? I'll be installing a wideband in a week or two to monitor AFRs so I should be able to get a better idea of whats going on then.

In closed-loop it will be hard to see the difference on the wideband... But that 3% fuel does make a difference in tip-in and response, which happens faster than the closed-loop can correct for.

If your running E10, adding 3% via the FQS is a good solution.

Pretty sure it was you who gave me the idea in the other thread, so thanks!

My car did something weird when I took it out tonight, it broke traction in first gear when the turbo came on... wheeeee

I have been running nothing but E10 since that is the only kind of gas available around here. I wonder if this is my issue when its cold out. My car almost feels gutless on the low end.

Isn't most "standard gas" now all E10?
